The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. The Product Owner is a brand-new role at the CNC within our growing IT department, to focus on ensuring the product value stream delivers business and customer value, managing the product lifecycle from design, delivery, operations, to acting as the primary representative and bridge between the business and technology organisations. You’ll be empowered and come with an astute ability to negotiate and make decisions around priority scope and requirements with impacted business stakeholders.

You will support the Head of IT in forecasting, management, and review of annual Revenue and a Capital budget of approx. £6million. You’ll shape the vision for the Product growth that is engaging and feeds into our overarching business strategy, whilst building a clearly understood product roadmap that reflects customer desires and captures the imagination of the business. Promoting and leading a culture of innovation and experimentation, with the freedom to iterate and develop ideas, you’ll provide this insight to stakeholders and participate in project planning. You’ll create, maintain, prioritise and sequence the product backlog based on business value and return on investment, ensuring the delivery of features alongside the Product Delivery Lead.

To be successful you will have in-depth knowledge of the assigned product technology, to include Microsoft M365 platform and workflow tools such as Power Automate and Power Apps, and their ability to enhance business processes, good practice, alongside a broad understanding of IT topics such as cloud products and platforms, micro-service architectures, automation, and API integration. You’ll have experience of leading complex, cross-functional projects in Agile and/or DevOps environments and be passionate about effecting changes and using cloud technologies to deliver applications/solutions. Your technical knowledge and experience will be backed up by your ability to navigate and build connections with organisations, influencing and driving results in cross-functional teams, and your excellent communication skills.

This role has been assessed as suitable for hybrid working with a 40 % office / 60% remote working basis.   There is an expectation that there will be requirement to travel to CNC locations to support activities or meet with suppliers for infrastructure projects.
