About the Role

 

We have a new opportunity within Protection and Resilience as the Head of Operational Resilience.  You will be responsible for defining, refining and implementing an Operational Resilience framework and related policies, with day to day oversight of the execution of the Operational Resilience framework across Allianz UK, including key senior stakeholder engagement.
You’ll lead the central Operational Resilience team’s activities in facilitating and supporting the continuous improvement of Operational Resilience across Allianz UK.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy, Framework & Policy

  • Leading the effective development and consistent implementation of the Operational Resilience Strategy, Framework, and Policy, in alignment with UK regulatory and AZ Group requirements
  • Defining and refining key Operational Resilience processes, methodologies, and approaches, including identification & mapping of IBS, impact tolerances, scenario testing and resilience assessments, in line with good practice, regulatory requirements, Group standards and evolving business needs
  • Ensuring overall consistency and approach across the Operational Resilience function by establishing standardised processes for cohesive and coordinated delivery, including for remediation of vulnerabilities

Alignment & Engagement

  • Designing, refining and agreeing Allianz UK design and governance structure for Operational Resilience, maintaining the Target Operating Model, RACI and descriptions
  • Developing, facilitating and executing a plan to ensure that stakeholders in the 1st line or in support functions are sufficiently engaged with and knowledgeable about operational resilience
  • Working with Head of Business Continuity to ensure alignment of Operational Resilience with business continuity policy, framework and plans
  • Working with other related functions e.g. Risk, Compliance as part of a holistic Operational Resilience capability

Culture & Education

  • Facilitating the development of a resilience culture through initiatives to promote Operational Resilience, ensuring the Operational Resilience mind-set is embedded within the organisation’s culture

Governance

  • Overseeing key Operational Resilience communications both internally to governance committees and engaging with external parties, such industry bodies and regulators.
  • Ensuring effectiveness of Operational Resilience tooling, reporting and related processes

Oversight of Operational Resilience Execution

  • Leading the periodic processes to:

Review and develop the set of defined IBSs in Allianz UK

Review and update impact tolerances for the IBSs
Review and continually improve the mapping of underlying supporting assets across all relevant pillars
Review and refine the resilience controls/metrics used to assess vulnerability of mapped assets (resilience assessments)
Coordinate and oversee regular completion of resilience assessments for identified important business services.
Oversee the process of identifying, classifying and prioritising specific vulnerabilities related to IBSs, including escalating any unresolved issues to relevant fora or executives
Oversee the execution of vulnerability remediation, ensuring compliance with agreed risk appetites
Facilitate the definition and refining of an IBS-level view of risks/threats, to be used as a basis the development of severe but plausible testing scenarios
 

About You

 

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of implementing and maturing an organisations’ Operational Resilience
  • Experience of meeting regulatory requirements for Operational Resilience
  • Familiarity with other relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various department and levels of the organisation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience of developing, implementing and leading others on a strategic vision
  • Experience of managing and developing a team to meet business objectives
