Job description

The successful candidate will act as DVLA’s relationship and system manager for DVLA Purchase to Pay (P2P), ensuring compliance with policy and procedures to support the broader Directorate, Agency and Departmental functions.

The role holder will act as an escalation point for Purchase to Pay processes, offering advice and guidance to stakeholders across DVLA and the wider Department for Transport (DfT) family. There will be a need to lead engagement with the P2P community, through regular attendance to DVLA/DfT forums and focused communications to the P2P community. The role holder will manage team responsibilities, including management information obligations and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • To oversee P2P at DVLA to ensure all activity is conducted in accordance with policy and procedures, integrating with the relevant internal and external parties.
  • Be responsible for the SAP Commercial Master data, carrying out the necessary checks to minimise fraud, ensuring data responsibilities are adhered to, and system cleansing is carried out on a regular basis.
  • Be responsible for SAP system roles for DVLA staff, ensuring segregation of duties and no breeches in security policy.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in the design and delivery of changes to the P2P system, ensuring it is fit for purpose for DVLA. Ensuring compliance to both local and departmental change control, testing, deadlines and milestones accordingly.
  • Ensure delivery of high quality customer service via a help desk function providing support to Finance, HR, P2P and Inventory Management Users ensuring customer satisfaction is at the forefront.

Additional Information

This role will be based in Swansea, and we will be operating a hybrid working model that allows you to work between home and on-site giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work, subject to business needs and this also allows for ongoing support, development, and collaboration with colleagues.

Therefore, the expectation is that you will spend a minimum of 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace (DVLA). We would encourage you to discuss the working arrangements for this role with us during the recruitment process.

Person specification

  • To thrive in this role, you have experience of working within a customer service environment.
  • You can demonstrate experience of Purchase to Pay processes and are comfortable with overseeing tasks, ensuring they are carried out in accordance with policy and procedures. You have experience in the use of a Purchase to Pay system.
  • You will be a strong advocate for change and continuous improvement, recognising the benefits of promoting a change culture within your team.
  • You are a confident communicator, who enjoys collaborating with a variety of internal and external people.
  • You can comfortably cascade messages among your team and externally.
  • You have the ability to adjust your excellent communication skills to adapt to varying situations.
