Job description

As HR Data Compliance Support Manager, you will provide support for the HR data compliance process and produce accurate and timely responses to HR data sharing requests. This includes interpreting and applying GDPR to process Subject Access Requests, Freedom of Information Requests and Parliamentary Questions.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become a HR data compliance expert, working in a fast-paced and varied role which will also provide you with a wide overview of DVLA processes and frequent exposure to a vast range of stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Producing accurate and timely responses to HR Subject Access Requests (SAR)/Freedom of Information Requests (FOIR) and Parliamentary Questions (PQs) in line with legislative timescales.
  • Providing and seeking advice/information from relevant customers and/or stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintaining the process for recording and monitoring all requests for DVLA HR/Personnel data.
  • Always ensuring compliance with GDPR, issuing clear guidance to managers and ensuring access rights are appropriate and are up to date.
  • Working collaboratively with the HR Compliance Manager in issuing GDPR guidance to colleagues and keeping up to date with changes in current legislation which could affect the HR work stream.
  • Supporting the HR MI Team on GDPR compliance tasks and activities.
  • Producing compliance reporting from the HR SAP system, identifying any abnormalities to the relevant stakeholder.
  • Having great attention to detail with the ability to plan and organise your own work and be able to follow guidance and policies.

Additional information 

This role will be based in Swansea, and we will be operating a hybrid working model that allows you to work between home and on-site giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work, subject to business needs and this also allows for ongoing support, development, and collaboration with colleagues.

Therefore, the expectation is that you will spend a minimum of 60% of your working time based at your principal workplace (DVLA). We would encourage you to discuss the working arrangements for this role with us during the recruitment process.

Person specification

  • The successful candidate will have a good understanding of GDPR and can interpret and apply this knowledge to ensure compliance.
  • You have good interpersonal skills and enjoy building positive working relationships at all levels.
  • You will be thorough with your work and have exceptional attention to detail.
  • You can manage and filter workflow as well as organise and prioritise workloads to maximise productivity and meet deadlines.
  • You will have good IT skills and a demonstrable knowledge in the use of Microsoft packages, in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • You understand how your work supports wider objectives, you look at the big picture and consider the wider factors and long-term implications of decisions.
