We are looking for a Construction Site Manager based in Liverpool at Peel Ports construction site, on a 24 month fixed term contract.

Here’s what you’ll be doing

​​​​​​​B2B Solutions sell, design, build, and operate energy solutions for industrial, commercial, and public sector customers. We combine different technologies to maximise the customers’ benefits. Technologies offered encompass efficient lighting, solar PV, heat pumps, CHPs, batteries, and others dependent on customer requirements.
Within the B2B Construction team, the Site Manager will support the Project Delivery Manager during the build phase of a large solar PV project (one of the biggest rooftop PV projects in Europe) in the Liverpool area as E.ON representative on site.

  • Supervise workers, subcontractors, and work activities.
  • Prepare and present site inductions, safety briefings and toolbox talks (E.ON will provide material) and record attendance.
  • Assess and manage safety hazards: Ensure the E.ON RAMS and Permit Process is followed for all works on site.
  • Approve RAMS and issue permits as required.
  • Ensure Site Rules are displayed and enforce these Rules.
  • Check if welfare facilities are clean, tidy, and functioning, ensure repairs are done if required.
  • Carry out daily health and safety inspections to ensure compliance with relevant legal requirements and procedures (incl. waste management procedures).
  • Help E.ON Project Delivery Managers to plan the work programme.
  • Coordinate deliveries of materials, plant and equipment, construction works on site, the client’s regular business and any other activities on site.
  • Complete records such as daily diaries for site reports and keep the Site File up to date.
  • Ensure first aid equipment is available and in date.
  • Lead and minute/record daily site briefings as required.
  • Raise safety concerns at the appropriate level.
  • Make sure incidents incl. near hits are reported quickly and according to E.ON procedures.
  • Resolve problems and implement improvements.
  • Organise and oversee external inspections, such as with a health and safety inspector.
  • Provide emergency first aid if required.

What we need from you

  • Experience in the construction industry.
  • Appropriate health and safety qualifications (minimum SMSTS).
  • First Aid training.
  • The ability to communicate with, motivate, and (if necessary) discipline the workforce.
  • The ability to understand drawings and other contract documents.
  • A good understanding of safety procedures.
  • Knowledge, experience, and training in relation to Temporary Works Management.
  • The ability to mediate to resolve issues.
  • Understanding of legal responsibilities on construction sites (CDM 2015).
  • Understanding of welfare and environmental requirements.
  • Understanding of occupational health and behavioural safety requirements.

  • Experience and training in working at height, rooftop safety, work restraints
