Remote Response Operator 5 views

About the Role

We are seeking Remote Response Officers to play a vital role in providing support, advice and reassurance to members of the public across Lincolnshire.

As a Remote Response Officer, you will assess incidents, conduct initial enquiries, provide safeguarding and crime prevention advice, and resolve appropriate incidents remotely through telephone and video-based contact. Using the THRIVE principles, you will make informed decisions, accurately record crime and incident information, and ensure people receive the right level of support and response.

This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy problem solving, communicating with people and making a positive difference within their community.

Successful candidates will be required to work from one of the advertised police stations. Final postings will be confirmed following interview and will be based on operational requirements and available vacancies.

Applications close on 09 August 2026. We encourage interested candidates to submit their application as soon as possible, as this vacancy may close earlier than advertised if sufficient applications are received.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Read through incidents, determine whether a crime has occurred and create crime reports where required.
  • Conduct initial lines of enquiry and investigation through telephone enquiries.
  • Provide safeguarding, victim care and crime prevention advice.
  • Resolve suitable incidents remotely, reducing the need for officer deployment.
  • Record and maintain accurate information on police systems in line with national standards.
  • Gather and preserve evidential material through remote engagement.
  • Exercise professional judgement in resolving and closing appropriate incidents.

Why This Role Matters

Remote Response Officers are often the first point of contact for people seeking advice, support or police assistance. By resolving incidents at the earliest opportunity, conducting initial investigations and identifying safeguarding needs, you will help protect vulnerable people, support victims and ensure frontline policing resources are focused where they are needed most.

Your decisions and actions will contribute directly to keeping communities safe and delivering a professional and effective service to the public.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to extract relevant information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Active listening skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Compassion and professionalism when supporting victims and vulnerable people.
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • The ability to process, assess and evaluate information effectively.
  • An investigative mindset with sound judgement.
