Product Chapter Lead

This role is all about supporting our Product Managers to build brilliant products in-house. As our Product Chapter Lead you will play a critical role in empowering and coaching our Product Managers throughout the product life cycle. This role involves a unique blend of leadership, coaching, and hands-on product management. You will report directly to the Head of Product and work closely with all other chapter leads including Design, Frontend Development, and Backend Development. You will help to foster a brilliant Product culture and mindset across the chapter and collaborate with colleagues across EON Next. Your role is crucial in enabling alignment of our ‘in-house’ products with our product strategy and company goals. Working closely with the Product Leads for areas such as NextRetail, NextContact, NextIndustry, NextSmart and NextCollect you will support a culture of collaboration, shared understanding and drive strong alignment between the Product Managers and Product Leads.

You’ll lead a team of Product Managers, focusing on areas like electric vehicles, demand flexibility, customer service and AI. Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing

  • Lead with Vision: Directly manage and coach a team of Product Managers, guiding their growth and supporting them to build brilliant products that our colleagues and customers love, and work for the business

  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with Chapter Leads across various disciplines, ensuring cohesive and innovative product development

  • Agile Leadership: Promote agile methodologies within your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency

  • Strategic Hiring: Drive the growth of your team by recruiting top talent to scale and stretch our internal capabilities

  • Hands-on Involvement: Dedicate about 20% of your time to direct product management activities, from discovery to delivery

  • Drive Product alignment: Ensure strong collaboration and alignment between Product Managers and Product Leads

  • SaaS by design: Drive a mindset and culture of building products that consider a market beyond E.ON and include a vision of a SaaS future

Leadership and Team Management (40%):

  • Directly manage and coach a team of Product Managers, providing guidance and support for their professional development

  • Collaborate with Chapter Leads across Design, Frontend and Backend Development to ensure cohesive product development and implementation

  • Strategically grow the product management team, recruiting and integrating new talent as the team expands

  • As a member of the Product Leadership Team you drive strong collaboration and work closely with all Product Leads

Product Management (20%):

  • Participate in hands-on product management activities, such as market research, strategic planning, and product delivery

  • Stay informed about market trends and customer needs to shape effective product strategies

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and launches.

  • Maintain a high-level of technical expertise as a product manager by keeping hands on with the teams

Agile Methodology Coaching (20%):

  • Foster agile practices within the product manager chapter, emphasising continuous improvement and efficiency

  • Organise and facilitate agile training sessions and workshops for your Product Managers, including regular retrospectives

  • Regularly review and optimise agile processes to enhance Product Manager productivity and Product quality

  • Work closely with our Agile Coach to share knowledge, collaborate and support the coach with aligning ways of working

Cross-Departmental Collaboration (20%):

  • Engage with Engineering chapter leads and teams to ensure alignment and collaboration across all stages of product development

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between the Product Manager chapter and other departments

  • Contribute to the overall strategy and decision-making processes within the product department
