Remote sessional counsellor/Psychotherapist

BACP Accredited or Equivalent

Nationwide – remote based role

Salary £31,500 -£33,500 based on FT hours, Salary pro rata for part-time

Permanent role

Our Accredited Counsellors work 7. 5-hour shifts covering the hours between 8am to 10pm, weekends shifts are also available.

Part time hours are a minimum of 2 days per week.

You’ll deliver the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) service to Bupa clients in need of support with their mental health and wellbeing, through solution focussed approaches and techniques. Every day is different, and each call is unique in supporting large and small companies with their employees’ mental health and wellbeing ranging from supporting those living with physical and mental health needs through to helping to achieve working life resilience and assistance with legal and financial worries.

You’ll help us make health happen by:

  • Providing telephone counselling to a case load of clients, short, medium, longer term sessional work with a varied mix of client presenting problems, including oncology

  • Conducting mental health triage assessments

  • To adhere to sessional limits depending on the client’s allowance as determined by their company benefits.

  • Assessing and managing risk t clients and others as required

  • To work at a client level to provide group psychoeducation, raising awareness of mental health and wellbeing, promotion of mental wellbeing guidance via remote presentation, workshop events and training as and when required.

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

  • Recognised Counselling diploma qualification (Level 4) or higher

  • A minimum of 450 supervised counselling hours

  • 3 years fulltime post qualification counselling experience

  • BACP or NCS Accredited or equivalent membership

  • Rich and varied experience of Counselling different sectors of and clients in society

  • Experience in working with complex cases is desirable

  • Preferably previous experience providing telephone counselling over short, medium or longer term

  • Flexible attitude to work the shifts required

  • Strong IT skills – experienced MS Office packages (including preferably MS Teams) – this is a busy computer and phone-based role
