Tools Developer

Job Purpose

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the creation and maintenance of business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and accompanying O365 suite of tools to provide users and business areas with accurate, consistent, and timely information needed to deliver against their/its business commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Support Services team to develop and optimise our existing systems and processes and build new business apps.
  • Ensuring that the correct processes and tools are in place to support the governance and control of Information in order to mitigate legal and regulatory risk.
  • Working directly with internal customers to understand their business problems and translating these into clear and concise requirements.
  • Produce solutions in accordance with current best practices and company standards including User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) standards and methodologies.
  • A focus on improving the flow and accessibility of data for all, efficiency-savings, and cybersecurity.
  • Researching and appraising business opportunities with new and emerging technologies.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience as a Citizen Developer would be ideal.
  • Experience in using SQL, low-code and other programming to fulfil the role. Please note that whilst having low code experience is a desirable attribute this role will not require a high level of coding knowledge.
  • Experience with cloud-based software, specifically Office 365 Teams, PowerApps, Power Automate, SharePoint and PowerBi and an understanding of the Software lifecycle.
  • Ability to simplify and streamline complex processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Candidates will enjoy working with and understanding data
  • Strong organisational skills with a logical and structured approach to work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with confidence & credibility to be able to work effectively with stakeholders.
  • Confident to challenge and be challenged.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A self-starter with energy who is able to business partner effectively with stakeholders and influence them appropriately
  • Good networking skills, establishing key contacts around the organisation, valuing them and using them effectively.
