This team plays a vital role in ensuring processes run smoothly, supporting the organisation through efficient coordination, clear communication, and accurate handling of information. Working in a fast-paced environment, the department collaborates across multiple levels, providing guidance and maintaining high standards when dealing with policy, compliance, and internal procedures. The team is detail-oriented and committed to delivering a reliable and professional service, ensuring both colleagues and stakeholders are supported effectively.

 

The role supports the registration and oversight of Approved Training Bodies (ATBs) and instructors, ensuring all activities are accurately recorded on TARS (Testing and Registration System). It involves managing allocated training providers, handling registration processes, and making recommendations on approvals or removals. The postholder works closely with enforcement teams on compliance, site inspections, and industry standards, while also contributing to regulatory oversight. In addition, the role provides administrative support to the Motorcycle Registers Manager, including work related to the Enhanced Rider Scheme.

 

Top Responsibilities

  • processing all applications for ATBs, instructors and dealing with all related queries
  • obtaining representations from instructors and making recommendations to the CBT Registrar for both refusal and removal decision
  • dealing with notification of instructors driving convictions and issue appropriate warnings or referrals
  • assisting ATBs by providing guidance to ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements including compiling data from DL196 returns.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Able to communicate effectively with individuals, across teams and at various levels
  • Ability to interpret regulation and legislation.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems, particularly Word, Excel and Email applications with associated keyboard skills
