Role Description
We’re excited to invite a talented UI Designer to join our family of talented people in the Petplan Sales Optimisation team, where you’ll have the opportunity to contribute by developing best-in-class web solutions.
As a UI Designer, you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting seamless and engaging online experiences for our customers. You’ll dive deep into understanding user behaviour and design every step of the journey — from initial brainstorming and wireframing to prototyping and user testing. Your passion for user-centred design will help bring our vision to life, driving growth and enhancing customer satisfaction at every touchpoint.
In performing this role, your core duties and responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):
- Using UI/UX Design methods to understand users’ needs, behaviours, and emotions to gather insights that inform your design.
- Support our digital UX and UI processes by contributing to all stages of product design, from turning insights into low-fidelity designs and prototypes, to creating fully interactive, high-quality, and responsive designs.
- Collaborate closely with team members and product managers to understand user needs and transform them into intuitive, impactful UI designs that drive key business outcomes.
- Support and develop our design system to ensure a balanced brand experience across all platforms while keeping our development team aligned and informed.
- Working closely with developers to ensure designs are accurately translated into functional websites.
- Prepare asset files, including images, icons, and other graphic elements, ready for developers to code.
- Communicate clearly and collaborate with team members to address and solve issues or challenges that arise.
- Carry out tasks with a high attention to detail to ensure that work is completed to a high level of quality.
- Adapt to new situations and embrace technologies quickly and effectively.
- Manage your time efficiently to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks effectively.
About You
To be a success in this role you’ll have:
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of User-Centered Design (UCD) Expertise: Deep understanding of UCD principles and You will be able to demonstrate innovative thinking and creativity in problem-solving.
- You will be able to executes work with meticulous attention to detail.
- You will have the ability to handle a wide range of projects, from ambiguous to well-defined, simple to complex, and leading them from concept to completion.
- You will be confident in working independently and making informed decisions however also a effective team player with strong collaborative skills when required.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards
- A portfolio with examples of UI work is preferable
Desirable Skills
- You will have a passion for pets, and experience or knowledge of the Animal Health industry would be an advantage
- Previous knowledge of design Software Proficiency: Skilled in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Miro would be desirable.
- UX methodologies desirable.

The role will be based at Allianz Ditton Park, Riding Court Road, Datchet SL3 9LL.
Our office with flex model means that you will have the opportunity to work from home as well as the office. As a hybrid worker you will be in the office between 2 and 16 days per month depending on individual and business need. This will be discussed at interview stage
