Be the link between the business and the business of HR

Together with our partners, local organisations and residents, we’ve created Lambeth 2030. It’s a bold, shared vision for Lambeth with real ambitions that will help us deliver sustainable change. And you’ll be key to that — not only by taking on one of our most senior HR roles but also as a vital connection between our diverse directorates and our HR and OD service.

Reporting to the Director of HR & OD, you’ll also sit on the management team for your directorate where you will influence and direct the whole of HR to meet business needs.

We have an ambitious culture change programme which emphasises the importance of people’s roles in enhancing the lives of our residents. Each one is at the heart of our workplace transformation which focuses on getting the basics right and understanding the moments that matter to performing at your best.

You’ll work in partnership with leaders, key stakeholders and HR colleagues to deliver HR plans and solutions in line with the needs and priorities of the council. You’ll be seen as the departmental HR and OD expert, advising and guiding managers and staff, and providing high-level people management and development support across directorates.

You will need a good knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice, and of HR Management including workforce planning and skills development. Your solid understanding of talent management processes will be essential, and you’ll be able to draw on proven HR Business Partner experience. You’ll also bring us a data-driven approach to decision making backed by skills in change management and organisational development, plus implementing change at pace.

Where you will really stand out is through building great relationships with directors across the organisation as well as within HR and OD. You’ll look at the big picture of HR and OD requirements to prioritise and source solutions, and drawn on your talent for explaining complex problems and issues. A real collaborator, you’ll be deeply connected to your own values and how you can actualise them in the workplace.

If we match your energy, values and ambitions, join us as we embark on our most exciting chapter yet and help us write history for the next generation. To find out more please visit: https://www.lambethambition.com/
