Changing Lives is a national charity that supports over 17,000 people each year. We are a well-respected, growing organisation dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable people across the UK.
We began as a soup run supporting people who were homeless in the North East over 45 years ago, and are proud to still have our main base and central office in the North East. Since 1970, our services have grown and developed to support people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including addiction and recovery programmes, employment guidance, help for people in prison or on probation, and support for people experiencing sexual exploitation or domestic abuse.
We’re looking for committed and compassionate professionals who share our enthusiasm for changing lives.
About the job
Changing Lives are leading a partnership from the women’s sector, Together Women, Grow, Women Centre, Basis Yorkshire and A Way Out, to work across the North East and Yorkshire in areas where there are emerging, live and recent sexual exploitation investigations.
This is an exciting opportunity funded through the Tampon Tax Fund. Central to the STAGE partnership is the desire to build a strong policy partnership, combining specialist local and national voices to support this innovative piece of work.
The STAGE Project will provide trauma-informed support for vulnerable women who have been groomed by groups of men for sexual exploitation in locations across the North East and Yorkshire. STAGE will undertake research into survivor experiences and impact of support, producing a toolkit to enable this approach to be replicated nationally.
The beneficiaries of the STAGE Project are women over the age of 16, who have been groomed for sexual exploitation. Many of these will be involved with supporting investigations and giving evidence at trials.
