About you

Do you have substantial experience in a management role? Do you have demonstrated ability to lead and develop a project and team members? Do you have substantial experience of working with vulnerable people in a supportive and empowering role?

Do you have experience of working on a BL/ESF funded project and a strong understanding of the requirements for compliance? Do you have a knowledge and understanding of professional boundaries? Do you have excellent Interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels, motivate others and change people attitudes when necessary?

If so, the role of Team Leader could be for you.

About us

Changing Lives began in 1970, when four people set up Tyneside Cyrenians, offering food and shelter to people experiencing homelessness in the North East. Since then, services have grown and developed to support people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including addiction and recovery programmes, employment guidance, help for people in prison or on probation, and support for people experiencing sexual exploitation or domestic abuse.

Today our charity employs over 600 staff, has 400 volunteers and operates from Berwick to London giving people hope and aspiration that their lives can change. We listen carefully to the experiences of people with lived experience and 20% of staff at Changing Lives have previously used services.

About the job

The Step Forward Tees Valley programme is a partnership of 17 organisations working together to support people across the Tees Valley to overcome the complex reasons that prevent them from finding work. These barriers could include physical or mental ill-health, a lack of self-confidence, a gap in skills, a conviction, or an addiction.  The programme helps people to build on their strengths and aspirations, using the skills and expertise of partners and local employers to achieve their goals and is committed to making a real and lasting change in Tees Valley.

Changing Lives provide specialist services to support participants across the programme which includes an Employer Engagement Team, a Volunteer and Peer Mentoring Team and 2 Specialist Trainers who design and deliver bespoke training.

Step Forward Tees Valley is funded by The European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund as part of their investment in local projects that tackle the root causes of poverty and promote social inclusion.

You will be solely employed on the Step Forward Tees Valley Programme.
