At Oxbotica, we are on a mission to make the Earth move, safely and sustainably unleashing the benefits of self-driving technology to every person and every organisation on the planet. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team and be a part of this amazing journey.

As the Senior DevOps Engineer your day might include:

  • Working with stakeholders to design and develop solutions to new products & projects.
  • Maintaining and improving the configuration of our operating systems and software.
  • Maintaining existing processes and solutions.
  • Improving current systems to increase scalability and flexibility.
  • Working with internal teams to troubleshoot problems in a variety of areas.
  • Acting as a point of knowledge for teams questions on areas in the devops space.

Documentation

  • Produce process documents
  • Produce configuration documents focused on our systems
  • Produce and maintain user guides

Communication

  • You will be encouraged to share your ideas with your team and the wider business in a respectful manner.
  • You will listen to and digest company communications and absorb where necessary.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to a variety of technical and non technical team members

Requirements

What you need to succeed:

  • Strong background with configuration management systems, ideally ansible.
  • Previous examples following good software development processes and working as part of an agile team with good communication skills
  • An exposure to using systems for monitoring the health and configuration of remote systems such as network monitoring tools like Zabbix, Icinga / Nagios, etc.
  • Previous history with cloud infrastructure to provide services such as package and data repositories
  • Strong scripting working in BASH and/or Python
  • Strong knowledge of installing, configuring and managing Linux environments

Extra kudos if you have:

  • Knowledge with continuous integration systems to provide continuous delivery with pipelines defined as code (e.g. Jenkins Pipeline)
  • Use of containers such as Docker
  • Experience with virtualisation technologies such as QEMU, ESXi, vagrant
  • Exposure to mentoring other DevOps team members

Your background:

  • Possibly starting off life as a Software Developer
  • Possibly from a Systems Administrator background
  • Possibly from an interface role between code and hardware
  • Any other background with experience around the devops lifecycle
