SENIOR BUILDING SURVEYOR

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Building Surveyor to join our team.

In this role, you will make sure we provide safe, well maintained and sustainable homes for our residents. You will be responsible for delivering customer-focused services, addressing the needs of our tenants and enhancing the living conditions in our housing portfolio. Your expertise will help us maintain high standards of safety, compliance and environmental sustainability, contributing to the overall wellbeing and satisfaction of tenants and leaseholders/residents.

About the role

 This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual eager to share and develop a variety of skills and experiences. You will play a key role in shaping our responsive repairs service. The successful candidate will:

  • Support the Property Services Manager and Head of Housing with daily operations in the Property Services Team.
  • Deputise for the Property Services Manager when needed.
  • Manage and oversee the Trainee Building Surveyor and Property Services Support Officer.
  • Prepare and present reports to committees.
  • Support the development of best practices in the Council, embedding a customer focussed approach and continuous improvement in everything we do.

Undertake building surveying duties to achieve the objectives set out in the job description.

Who we’re looking for?

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have a good education, including reading, writing and numeracy skills.
  • Have significant/substantial experience working in this field.
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills, in person, in writing, or on the phone.
  • Are highly organised and can work with limited supervision.
  • Are comfortable working in and leading a team, working flexibly to support your colleagues.
