The Risk & Performance Business Partner plays a critical role at the centre of the Department, supporting Departmental Committees, Directors General, Directors, Group Boards and senior stakeholders to make informed decisions based on high quality performance and risk insight.

 

You will act as a trusted adviser and ‘critical friend’, providing constructive challenge, ensuring governance standards are upheld, and helping the Department deliver against its strategic priorities.

 

This role covers both risk and performance, and works closely with Performance Leads, Risk Leads, Group PMOs, and external partners across the wider DfT family.

 

You will work across the team, helping to continuously improve the risk and performance maturity of the Department.

About You

We welcome applications from candidates who have:

  • Experience engaging confidently with senior stakeholders, building trusted relationships.
  • Experience contributing to corporate reporting or governance processes (e.g., risk, performance, assurance).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools (Power BI preferred).
