The Project Manager will provide professional and operational, cost, contract and project management services for delivering building, refurbishment and fit out project works of either a capital or revenue nature to meet the priorities of the organisation.

 

Top Responsibilities

  • Implement, manage and deliver a series of building, refurbishment and fit out works in accordance with best practice and business case objectives ensuring they meet appropriate time, cost, quality, environmental and health and safety parameters.
  • Manage where necessary/appropriate external consultants, building surveyors, engineers to support project works as required.
  • Prepare and submit business cases for individual projects together with specifications, scopes of work, project briefs to enable works to be tendered and undertaken.
  • Procure contractors/consultants in accordance with the Agency’s policies and procedures but in such a way to ensure the activities are planned to ensure best ‘value for money’ is achieved.
  • Work with Procurement and the Agency’s external legal advisors where required to develop appropriate forms of contract for each project based on the Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) and New Engineering Contract (NEC) guidelines.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of managing projects within the construction industry and of fit out/refurbishment works.
  • Demonstrable evidence of successfully delivering a range of new building works, refurbishment and fit out projects on time, within budget and within the quality requirements.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety at Work Act, compliance requirements, building legislation, Construction & Design Management (CDM), Building Regulations and best practice

 

Essential qualifications/licenses:

  • A full UK driving license
  • A recognized qualification in a relevant property related discipline with membership of a professional body such as APM, RICS or equivalent relevant experience.
