We are looking for a Portfolio Support Officer to join the Portfolio Office- which ensures that the CNC continues to invest in the right projects to deliver its strategy – doing the right things, at the right time and in the correct way. You will play an integral role in our development!


You will be driven, and eager to support the Portfolio Lead and key stakeholders, handling and strengthening the Project Support functions. This position will assist the implementation of Portfolio best practice, and ensure the application of organisational learning into our delivery approaches. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with department policy, process, and templates, and maintaining and continuously improving these. You’ll also control project documentation, analyse reports and supply Governance Boards with critical data and plans in your support of the Portfolio Governance Manager.


Role Responsibilities:

To be successful in this role you will have the following experience and skills:

  • Significant experience within a portfolio/programme/project role and experience working to deadlines
  • Experienced and qualified in project management methodologies (i.e., APM) to APM PFQ or equivalent
  • A standout colleague, self-motivated and able to use your own initiative appropriately.
  • Customer oriented, and confident to challenge practice and process when required.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience of maintaining large and sophisticated file management systems in SharePoint, and collating project/programme management documentation
  • Experience of working with security classified information up to Secret.

Join us, and you’ll be travelling to UK-wide nuclear sites as part of this strategically valuable Programme. This position has been assessed as suitable for regular homeworking.

Please note that you will need to pass SC security clearance to be eligible for this role.
