£40,070 to £47,727 plus a £1,500 South East Allowance and generous benefits package

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. Given the critical nature of our work, it’s vital that we recruit skilled and committed professionals to our high-performing team. Our Portfolio Delivery Office is the principal means of delivering change and improvements in operational capability for the CNC.  

We’re looking for a Portfolio Schedule & Planning Manager to join our Portfolio Delivery Office to build and manage the CNC’s Integrated Portfolio Plan, acting as the liaison between the Portfolio Delivery Office and the projects and programmes within this. The post holder will be required to work with the team to understand the impact of change on the Portfolio, including the assessment of the intake of new work and projects and ensuring the resourcing is optimized and issues are escalated to minimize the impact on the portfolio and 3-year delivery plan. You will support horizon scanning of upcoming and potential new projects and align with in-flight projects and their prioritisation to the organisation.

Part of the role will be to assess and manage the impact from demand and change processes within the Portfolio Delivery Office and wider CNC, whilst supporting the CNC’s strategic planning process by helping the organisation to understand its current resource commitments and support better decision making by recommending starting, pausing/stopping projects to optimise delivery. You will have primary responsibility for maintain the Integrated Portfolio Plan and 3-year delivery plan.

To be successful in the role you’ll need to have extensive demonstrable experience of operating at a senior level within a Programme or Portfolio function, support by full membership of an appropriate professional body (i.e., APM). You should also have extensive knowledge of project management methodologies, with demonstrable capability in planning/scheduling. As you’ll be liaising with stakeholders, both internally and externally, you’ll need to have a strong ability to communicate at all levels, persuade and influence within a complex change management environment.

This role has been assessed as suitable for home working and is likely to be a 40% / 60% split of Office and Home Working.
