The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. We are recruiting for an experienced Operational Support Manager to implement and maintain efficient and effective administrative, reception and secretarial service to CNC Operational Services Division- utilising business processes, systems, and technology. You will plan and coordinate duty rotas to ensure effective reception cover including out of hours, and lead performance of the Operational Support team.

Some of the Responsibilities include:

  • Controlling spending and budgets handled by the teams, quality assure their work ensuring an effective service is delivered to the wider constabulary.
  • Ensuring that the support service provided are delivered against service level agreements and expectations.
  • Developing and maintaining the professional standards and personal development required for all roles within the teams function. Ensure quality assurance and standard process are incorporated and applied with a high level of adherence.
  • Working with the Senior Operational Support Manager and Senior Operational Support Officers to develop the short to medium term service provision of the Operational Support functions.
  • Ensuring a strong level of resilience is maintained.
  • Ensuring functional deadlines are met for corporate activities, and that contact with service providers both locally and nationally in relation to accommodation, facilities and all other services is comprehensive, efficient and continues to be fit for purpose.

Essential Experience:

  • High Standard of interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
  • Appropriate administration qualification or proven abilities.
  • In depth technical knowledge of systems procedures, equipment and facilities. Self-motivated and flexible
  • Experience of improving, developing systems and using management information systems.
  • Experience working in a service sector and dealing with external partners.
  • Experience Running reports from IT systems as and when required. Manipulating, analysing, and interpreting these reports as appropriate for senior management and requisite teams.
  • Experience challenging behaviour and situations.
  • Ability to handle workloads and challenge, when necessary, other functional heads.
  • Ability to make and influence decisions pertaining to Firearms Training.
  • Ability to initiate, plan and deliver successful change.
  • Flexibility in working practices and on occasion may require working unsociable hours at short notice and travel throughout the CNC estate.
