The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. It’s an exciting time to join the CNC’s IT team – you’ll implement digital services to underpin our ability to deliver our mission, and you’ll be one of our leading technical experts providing technical insight and assurance to the design, development, implementation, and operation of those services. This role is fundamental in shaping how we deliver digital services now and in the future.

You’ll hold overall responsibility and accountability for the infrastructure and systems development lifecycle and act as a technical expert for network infrastructure and systems, providing advice and assurance to internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure delivery of the services. You’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the CNC enterprise network roadmap and supporting all network development projects and activities.

If you have a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware, paired with experience in the implementation and management of WAN and LAN (inc. WiFi) technologies, then this could be the perfect role for you. You will have the ability to critically review existing and create new technical management documentation. You’ll need to have experience of working with Virtualisation, Cloud and Office 365 too. Your experience to date will be underpinned with a sound understanding of IT security best practice. Finally, you will be a self-starter who is able to work independently, but also comfortable within a team environment and communicating with stakeholders.

This role has been assessed as suitable for hybrid working with a 40 % office / 60% remote working basis.   There is an expectation that there will be requirement to travel to CNC locations to support activities or meet with suppliers for infrastructure projects.
