Changing Lives began in 1970, when four people set up Tyneside Cyrenians, offering food and shelter to people experiencing homelessness in the North East. Since then, services have grown and developed to support people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including addiction and recovery programmes, employment guidance, help for people in prison or on probation, and support for people experiencing sexual exploitation or domestic abuse.
Today our charity employs over 600 staff, has 400 volunteers and operates from Berwick to London giving people hope and aspiration that their lives can change. We listen carefully to the experiences of people with lived experience and 20% of staff at Changing Lives have previously used services.
At Changing Lives, we believe that everyone deserves a safe home, a rewarding job and a life free from addiction or abuse. We also believe that, given the right support, anyone can change their life for the better. By focusing on their strengths, potential and opportunities, we help over 14,000 people overcome their problems and live safe, successful, independent lives each year.
We’re looking for committed and compassionate professionals who share our enthusiasm for changing lives.
About the job
The Newcastle Integrated Domestic Abuse Service (NIDAS) aims to minimise risk and harm, improve health and well-being and support people to build brighter futures.
NIDAS is delivered in partnership with Thirteen Care and Support, and incorporates a safe and secure refuge accommodation for survivors of domestic abuse, as well as outreach services to support people in the local community and in their own homes.
Changing Lives provides the IDVA and ISVA support for the NIDAS project. IDVAs focus on risk and risk management. We provide support to high risk victims through trained specialist workers, and enable victims to access a range of legal and non-legal advice.
Our ISVAs work with victims of rape and sexual assault. They are specially trained to respond sensitively to the needs of the people who have experienced sexual violence, providing both practical and emotional support.
We are looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the IDVA/ ISVA Service and for ensuring the provision of a high quality and pro-active front-line service to victims and survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
At Changing Lives we value a diverse workforce and are keen to recruit people of all ages and from all backgrounds, abilities and ethnicities.
