We are seeking for an Evaluation Director to join our successful and dynamic team. In this role, you will design and deliver complex evaluations to address a range of challenges in social policy, as well as create and maintain effective client relationships across the UK public sector. You will work in and further develop a strong multi-disciplinary team of social researchers, statisticians, and methodological specialists.

The Role

  • Business Leadership: Shaping and driving the strategic direction and management of our mixed-method and evaluation offer. Working as part of the public policy leadership team, to develop and implement business strategy in the UK. Business Generation: Generating new business and writing good proposals.
  • Client relationships: Building and sustaining positive client relationships. Working closely to cement and develop trusted advisor relationships with our clients and encouraging a client focused approach within the evaluation team to reflect our client first strategy.
  • Project oversight: Leading and supervising evaluation projects – including a strong focus on the design, quality assurance, added value and team leadership.
  • Team Management: Leading and developing a strong multi-disciplinary team of researchers and evaluation specialists.
  • Financial growth: you will share responsibility for meeting and supervising the team’s financial targets, including expected revenue and performance.

Your Profile

  • Energetic, motivated and experienced team leader. Capable of developing and implementing strategic business plans, supervising a team and building relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong track record of business development in public research and evaluation and ability to drive business growth within a team. You have experience in the development of evaluation proposals and in a research and/or policy consulting role.
  • Able to deliver evaluations and undertake project oversight, adding value through method/policy expertise.
  • Strong mixed-method and evaluation skills, including supervising process, impact and economic evaluations and feasibility studies (for evaluation) using a range of methods; applying theory-based approaches to evaluation design; measuring complex social and economic impacts; developing clear policy and programme logic models/theories of change and translating these into outcome frameworks and measurement approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence and operate optimally in a complex, client facing organisation. A great teammate, with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • You have a high level of energy, stamina and action orientation.
