This job is responsible for providing administrative support for the Assurant’s European Linux Environment
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
Handling tickets raised by the numerous business units
Managing the server estate and ensuring the servers are patched and necessary security measures in place, server hardening and required system maintenance.
Creating/Updating monitoring alerts.
Automating server starts ups, application start-ups
Be available from outside of normal business hours on a Rota of current 1/3 people to assist with major incidents reported out of hours by the business.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, knowledge and expertise;
Commercial experience of supporting, deploying RedHat, Centos, Suse
System automation such as but limited to: Ansible, Puppet, SaltStack
Being able to troubleshoot and manage DNS, HTTP, SSL, LDAP
Experience in supporting JAVA based applications
Experience working with large global server estates
Ability to use call management software on a daily basis to create Incidents, Requests, Problems and Changes as well as manage the queue effectively.
Ability to work both independently and as a productive and helpful team member
