This role is fixed term for 12 months, with a possible extension to funding

You will complement the work of the newly launched South Yorkshire Liaison and Diversion service, providing practical and emotional support to service users who have come into contact with the criminal justice system, with support needs around mental health, learning disability and/or substance use. You will work with a caseload of service users, in the community and at court, recording all interactions with service users in line with Liaison and Diversion procedure and liaising with L&D staff around their support.

You will need to have lived experience of offending and one of the vulnerabilities listed above, as well as accessing support services. You will have experience of giving and/or receiving peer support and will be able to demonstrate how you manage your recovery and what you are currently doing with your time to being able to step up into full time employment. The successful candidates will need to have strong communication skills and the ability to positively engage with a wide range of service users, colleagues, and other professionals.
