St Gemma’s Hospice is seeking to appoint a Head of Individual Giving on a permanent basis.

This high profile, strategic post sits in the Income Generation leadership team and will take responsibility for developing and delivering a results focused income generation strategy covering Legacies, Trusts and Grants, Major Donors and Gifts and Individual Giving ideally having significant experience in at least one of these niche areas.

As an inspirational Head of Department you will continually seek improvement, be passionate about the provision of high quality care and committed to the values of the Hospice, with the ability to inspire, motivate and empower those around you. Your role will be to lead, develop and monitor the individual giving strategy to raise income from current and potential individual supporters ensuring the strategies are well communicated and understood throughout the organisation.

Working with the team you will further develop the analysis of campaigns and success of fundraising strategies and further develop the St Gemma’s Hospice donor journey and critically look to use digital engagement to support donor retention and engagement.

A key objective in this role is to deploy strategies and focus to grow income from Legacies and also from Major Donors, building on the plans in place to secure income growth. As the Head of Individual giving, it will be expected that the successful candidate will personally engage current and potential major donors and build long lasting relationships on behalf of St Gemma’s Hospice.

In this challenging and rewarding role you will work closely with the Director of Income Generation to help shape the future of St Gemma’s Hospice. You will be pivotal in developing and maintaining strong and effective links with the local community and will represent St Gemma’s Hospice at a local, regional and national level.

To be successful in this role you should have a proven track record in achieving demanding income generation budgets and leading a talented fundraising team. You will have experience of legacy promotion and administration and have a good understanding of why supporters donate. You will have an understanding of financial management information and experience of working with and understanding databases. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be dynamic and innovative in your approach to raising funds.
