As Head of EDI you will provide strategic direction to the force, spearhead initiatives to drive EDI across all facets of our organisation, from internal practice and policies, to community engagement.

You will be responsible for the force EDI strategy and delivery plan, which spans both internal workforce and external public relations. Leading on transformative initiatives that have a tangible impact on individuals and our communities. You will be working with local, regional, and national stakeholders to drive national frameworks, influencing change on a broad scale. Working collaboratively with stakeholders to embed EDI and partner with external organisations to enhance trust and build meaningful relationships with under-represented groups. The role has been established since May 2022 and so, you will have solid foundations to build upon and put your own stamp on this important aspect of our force.

Leading a passionate, motivated, and welcoming EDI team that includes both staff and volunteers, who are all dedicated to making a difference. Benefitting from the full support of our Chief Officer Team, and assistance from our wide range of staff networks and strategic leads, who are dedicated to advancing our EDI efforts. Prior Policing experience is not necessary, the wider team will support your development and introduction to our friendly force.

Lincolnshire Police has stations across Lincolnshire so there may be requirement to work from alternative locations across the county, therefore ability to travel is essential. The role also requires engagement with the public, so some meetings are held at external premises.

Shift pattern

The working hours are flexible between Monday to Friday 07:00 – 19:00 and a suitable working pattern can be discussed prior to, or during interview. Applications will be considered on an individual basis and all requests must meet the organisational need as well as individual need, which can be determined with the successful applicant. The role will be based in our Force HQ in Nettleham, Lincoln, but there is opportunity for some hybrid working, including the ability to work from hot desks across the county (subject to availability). There will be occasion where external public events and meetings require attendance on weekends or evenings, but these are pre-planned and worked on availability between the team.
