💷 Salary: £67,313 – In addition to the base salary a Recruitment and Retention Allowance (RRA) allowance of £4000 per annum is available for holders of Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS).

We are seeking an experienced commercial practitioner. This senior role is a unique opportunity to join the DVSA commercial leadership team. The team manages third-party delivery, providing services to over 4000 staff with a total contract portfolio value of £1,007 million.

The DVSA commercial team is organised in a category management model to support the department’s strategic objectives through the support of an end-to-end commercial cycle encompassing pre procurement/define, procurement and contract management support.

This role is to lead the following commercial categories:

• Digital and Technology Services
• Theory Test Services

Key Responsibilities

• Raise the profile of commercial function and the category management approach in line with the DVSA 2025-28 Commercial Strategy, focusing on the Strategy’s 4 four strategic pillars – Capability, Intelligent Customer, Enabling Service Led, Strategic Enabler.
• Be a senior commercial business partner to digital stakeholders and assure commercial outcomes, developing and delivering commercial strategies, providing up to date commercial advice and supporting customers when delivering complex procurements and contracts within the digital category.
• Lead on commercial category strategies, working with Heads of Categories to manage and deliver the pipeline of commercial requirements.
