About you

Do you have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of providing financial capability services? Do you have experience of working with socially disadvantaged people?

Do you have experience of  lone working and the associated personal responsibilities? Do you have evidence of communicating with and supporting various internal and external stakeholder groups?

Do you have experience of managing a wide range of tasks at any one time and able to confidently prioritise? Do you have experience of working to and meeting set targets?

About us

Changing Lives began in 1970, when four people set up Tyneside Cyrenians, offering food and shelter to people experiencing homelessness in the North East. Since then, services have grown and developed to support people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including addiction and recovery programmes, employment guidance, help for people in prison or on probation, and support for people experiencing sexual exploitation or domestic abuse.

Today our charity employs over 600 staff, has 400 volunteers and operates from Berwick to London giving people hope and aspiration that their lives can change. We listen carefully to the experiences of people with lived experience and 20% of staff at Changing Lives have previously used services.

We also believe that, given the right support, anyone can change their life for the better. The Get Ahead programme supports people across the North East of England to overcome the complex reasons that prevent them finding work

The programme helps people to build on their strengths and aspirations, using the skills and expertise of partners and local employers to achieve their goals and is committed to making a real and lasting change.

To support participants on Changing Lives’ Get Ahead programme experiencing financial exclusion to maximise benefits, increase their knowledge of their own financial situation and increase their financial capability.

This is an agile working role partially home and office based, therefore you will require the ability to work effectively independently, and as a virtual team, under pressure to meet challenging deadlines.
