About Police Now

Police Now’s mission is to transform communities, reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, and increase the public’s confidence in the police by recruiting, developing and inspiring outstanding and diverse leaders on the policing frontline. We are working towards a day when every community, whatever the socio-economic background of its residents, can thrive without being fearful of crime. We are looking for high-performing, committed, mission-aligned individuals who will actively contribute towards this goal.

It is important that Police Now’s workforce reflects the communities that we serve. We are an equal opportunities employer committed to diversity and inclusion in policing and our own organisation, and view workforce diversity as a business imperative. We strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life.

Police Now trains graduates and career changers with leadership potential to become inspirational police officers and outstanding crime fighters on our National Graduate Leadership Programme and our National Detective Programme. Our programme participants are supported for life so they can confidently progress through policing ranks as innovative leaders. We are a not-for-profit organisation of ~120 employees, with ambitious goals; we need impact and solutions-focused individuals who will accelerate us towards our mission. Everything we do and our culture is reflected in the Police Now Leadership Principles which are attached at the bottom of this page.

What you’ll do

Police Now currently works with 26 of the 43 Home Office police forces spread across the length and breadth of England and Wales. We co-deliver our programmes with partner forces, which play a central role in the achievement of our charitable mission.

Police Now’s Force Partnership Managers (FPMs) manage the relationship with forces and co-lead the implementation of our programmes with their counterparts in force. The continued growth and success of Police Now is dependent on the strength of the relationships they develop and maintain.

As an FPM, your day-to-day activities will involve delivering against four core workstreams:

  • The relationship development, account management, contract management and business development of approximately five partner forces, including securing sustained commitment to partnership for Police Now programmes and supporting current and future cohorts of Police Now participants to make a positive impact in the communities they serve.
  • Programme managing the implementation of the Police Now programmes in your partner police forces. This includes working collaboratively and effectively with a multidisciplinary team within the forces, and drawing on the evidence base of what works, so that participants and their police officer and police staff colleagues have the best possible experience of the programme and can have the biggest positive impact in communities.
  • Sharing innovation and best practice amongst our partner forces and obtaining feedback from them so that we can constantly develop and improve Police Now and policing; and
  • Acting as the voice of each partner force within Police Now, ensuring that force feedback is heard and reflected in how we develop our programmes and that we always strive to meet the needs of police forces, participants and the communities they serve.

You will need to develop a strong understanding of the partner forces you manage and collaborate with different people and functions within them to achieve your objectives. You will work closely with all teams within Police Now, to enable effective communication between those teams and partner forces and to maintain your own knowledge of developments across the different Police Now teams.

Police Now Force Partnership Managers are expected to have a strong understanding of UK policing and to remain up to date with relevant news and developments in policing and across the graduate recruitment landscape. We are always evolving so you may take ownership of projects and workstreams that support the development of the organisation or our programmes,  and enhance our relationships with police forces and other stakeholders.
