Your new role

In this exciting role you will be responsible for engaging with cross-functional teams across Rail territories globally to understand P2P requirements and work to motivate and build into process and technical solutions.

This role can be based either in the UK or Italy. Candidates need to have flexibility in regards to regular UK travel and some travel outside of the UK to Rail locations globally.

 

Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Subject matter expert and ‘go-to’ person on Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) digitalisation processes including supplier and catalogue enablement, data, workflows and guided buying
  • Works closely with IT function to define and develop projects, deliverables and associated KPIs
  • Contributes and develops detailed solution implementation plans
  • Accountable for all aspects of project management from Procurement perspective (for agreed projects) from inception to delivery, focusing on project planning, scoping, scheduling, executing, and quality assurance.
  • Responsible for leading project meetings, preparing reports, maintaining schedules and cost plans, managing project risk, and all other aspects of the project implementation, including project budgets.
  • Monitors project activities through the entire project lifecycle; evaluates the progress of the project(s) on a regular basis
  • Trains and supports end-user support teams in the to-be processes and ensure this is validation of their knowledge
  • Works closely with the Source-to-Pay (S2P) Programme lead to ensure consistency with governance approaches, tools & templates, status updates and communication methodologies
  • Champions and cultivates relationships and effectively communicates with both internal stakeholders
  • Plays a key role in the design, testing, and implementation of new products and features
  • Collaborates with the Indirect Category teams to define, implement and communicate source-to-pay channels for each category as applicable
  • Provides regular communications to the business stakeholders on P2P issues and improvements via workshops, “lunch ‘n learns” and internal communications
  • Maintains policies, training materials and work instructions for eProcurement processes
  • Supports and plays a role in wider Procurement digitalisation activities

 

About you

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent theoretical and practical understanding of Procurement, S2P processes and delivering digital change initiatives within these
  • Experience of Procurement master data (i.e. Vendors, materials etc.)
  • Experience of cloud based S2P solution suites (i.e. Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer etc.) including guided buying, catalogues, eInvoicing, supplier networks etc.
  • Experience of managing process improvement projects and programmes
  • Understanding of the core phases of the process and IT design & implementation including the required elements during design/build/test/deploy/move to business-as-usual
  • Understanding of key financial controls such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
  • Worked in multi-functional teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Can represent / interact across all levels of the business
  • Good knowledge Microsoft Office packages
  • Italian language skills would be an advantage
