 £63,582 – £68,136

Do you value trades unions like we do?

Together with our partners, local organisations and residents, we’ve created Lambeth 2030. It’s a bold, shared vision for Lambeth with real ambitions that will help us deliver sustainable change. Achievements outside the organisation start with achievements within. As our Employee Relations Specialist, you’ll look to build trusting relationships with employees including trades unions.

As someone who understands business requirements and trade unionised environments, you’ll provide expert advice to the Council on employee relations matters so that staff are engaged and managed according to our policies and procedures.

We have an ambitious culture change programme which emphasises the importance of people’s roles in enhancing the lives of our residents. Each one is at the heart of our workplace transformation which focuses on getting the basics right and understanding the moments that matter to performing at your best.

You’ll act as our employee relations specialist, developing strategies and interventions that ensure positive, constructive and respectful relationships between trades unions, employee representatives and managers and the council. You’ll also create tools and templates to support these relationships. In addition, you’ll stay on top of relevant employment law in relation to employee relations, training managers where needed.

You should have a proven track record of fostering positive relationships with trade unions and other representatives. You may have been a trade union representative yourself, or worked in a unionized environment.  You’ll also have advanced knowledge of employment legislation and statutory codes, which will help you understand changes to Lambeth strategy and their likely legal implications.

Lastly, your background in a trade unionised workplace will be key, and you’ll be credible and trustworthy in building relationships even when goals may not be aligned.

If we match your energy, values and ambitions, join us as we embark on our most exciting chapter yet and help us write history for the next generation. To find out more please visit: https://www.lambethambition.com/
