St Gemma’s Hospice is seeking to appoint an experienced E-commerce Manager on a permanent basis.

This high profile role is an exceptional opportunity for someone to completely reshape and build the online retail presence of St. Gemma’s Hospice, building on solid foundations but with a focus on the implementation of new sales platforms and technologies and will take a prominent position in the Retail management team.

This role isn’t just about strategy, the team needs a ‘hands-on’ leader who can use their technical knowledge and E-commerce experience to execute key tasks to grow our online retail footprint. The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced and passionate team and a group of committed volunteers who have delivered excellent results. As the E-commerce manager you will train and coach the team, develop skills and abilities and ensure that everyone has a role to play in the significant online growth plans at the hospice.

The immediate challenge is to broaden our online footprint from our current eBay and Depop stores to include other key selling platforms such as Amazon, Facebook, Instagram and Etsy. The successful candidate will lead on shaping reports and insight to track online sales growth and performance and to work closely with the Head of Retail and Director of Income Generation to identify investment opportunities to grow our e-commerce activity.

As a strategic thinker you will be looking at the formation of a new, standalone ecommerce website, ecommerce platform aggregation and a full range of ‘M-commerce’ opportunities as we modernise and expand our operations. You will lead on all online sales activity across the Hospice and be accountable for the delivery of challenging income targets…however, our growth potential is significant, the opportunity to build from a solid but small starting point is genuine and the appointed candidate could make a huge impact in the team and across the wider organisation.

To be successful in this role you should have a proven track record in e-commerce either directly for an organisation of from a dedicated agency. You will have experience in setting up new sales platforms and the ability to produce performance metrics to report on sales and to identify areas of strength and opportunity.

This is a big role with lots to do, it requires a ‘doer’, it needs someone who lives and breathes e-commerce and online sales….this is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join an amazing organisation, to own our e-commerce operation, to set out the future starting with a blank sheet of paper and a chance to work alongside some amazing colleagues with the full support and backing of the Hospice Leadership Team.

If you are a passionate and committed individual then St Gemma’s wants you to join their team.  We offer a competitive benefits package including generous leave entitlement, childcare voucher scheme, free on-site parking and subsidised meals.
