📍 Location: Dover (Hybrid)

💷 Salary: £57,515 – Up to £3,000 per annum on-call allowance.

🕒 Contract Type: Permanent – Flexible working, Full-time, Job share, Part-time

 

You will have strategic oversight of the high-profile Small Boat Crossing SAR function, setting and managing the HM Coastguard national network SAR response and working alongside other Governmental agencies, and charity and international partners.

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Governance and review of processes underpinning successful operational preparedness and strategic delivery of effective and efficient Maritime and Coastal Operations.
  • Identifying, mitigating and monitoring strategic risks within their Division, collaborating with colleagues as necessary and providing the Senior Officer Group with a strategic overview of operations and response capabilities.
  • Development and delivery of HM Coastguard national policies and projects including leading and chairing national strategic policy groups and management of national resources.

About you

Essential qualifications/licenses:

  1. A valid passport for international travel
  2. A full UK driving license

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • A demonstrable knowledge and experience of leadership, command, control and management of teams at a strategic level in an emergency response environment.
  • A demonstratable knowledge & experience of building strategic relationships both internally and externally with multiple stakeholders.
  • A demonstratable knowledge of the strategic management of budgets, resources, performance and direction setting.
  • A demonstrable knowledge and experience of identifying, mitigating and monitoring organisational risk.
  • A demonstrable knowledge and experience of organisational learning and development.
  • A demonstrable knowledge and experience of successfully leading organisational change programmes.
