Persimmon Homes Wessex has a vacancy for a Design Manager to join their successful and growing team. The regional office is based in Malmesbury.

As a Design Manager you will manage a team of Layout Designers and Architectural Technicians who will produce initial appraisal layouts which lead into the production of house layouts and associated house type drawings for the detail in planning and technical packs for submission.
You will report to the Technical Director. They will support you and develop you in the way Persimmon operate and give you clear objectives. You will need to be adaptable and strong in your management approach with a consistent approach to managing external consultants.

That you will have a good knowledge of the planning system, building regulations and proficiency in CAD and layouts. It’s likely that you will have a degree or HND level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant building related subject. We will consider candidates from architectural practices who have proven project management skills. There is potential for the successful candidate to be involved with das documents and framework plans on larger schemes upwards to 2,500 houses so there are significant opportunities to develop your skills.
