Job Description

Touchstone is a multi-award winning mental health and wellbeing charity operating in communities across Yorkshire.  Touchstone understands that we can only deliver excellence to the people we serve if the people we recruit are happy, empowered, supported to reach their potential and trusted to lead.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a peer support service delivered by Touchstone, in partnership with Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Crisis Resolution Intensive Support Service (CRISS). CRISS works to improve sustainable outcomes for people who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties.  The peer support element of CRISS is provided by Touchstone to complement NHS mental health services. The aim is for service users to develop skills towards effecting an improvement in their mental health. You will work together with service users to identify strengths and to reinforce positive patterns of behaviour, with the aim of reducing the chances of re-admission to CRISS.

As a Peer Support Worker (PSW) you will work within the NHS Crisis Resolution Intensive Support Service, supporting people who are vulnerable, and helping them to overcome barriers to reducing the chances of re-admission to clinical care. This will involve listening, understanding, and helping service users to identify pathways towards a sustained improvement in mental health. Each peer support worker will be based on one of four locality teams, working alongside clinical staff from a diverse range of specialisms.
