37 hours per week (Monday to Friday with rotational weekend work)
£19,908 per annum

Do you hold an NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or are you willing to study towards this qualification? Do you have experience of working with vulnerable people? Do you enjoy communicating and engaging with a broad range of people?
Do you have the ability to remain self-motivated particularly in challenging situations?
Are you experienced working with external agencies in order to develop and influence change? Are you able to quickly establish rapport with people? Do you have the ability to remain self-motivated particularly in challenging situations? Do you have knowledge of safeguarding procedures, adult and child protection?
Would you enjoy helping people achieve their full potential in and make sustained and positive change from alcohol or substance misuse?

We began as a soup run supporting people who were homeless in the North East over 45 years ago, and are proud to still have our main base and central office in the North East. Since 1970, our services have grown and developed to support people experiencing a wide range of personal challenges, including addiction and recovery programmes, employment guidance, help for people in prison or on probation, and support for people experiencing sexual exploitation or domestic abuse.

About the job
To provide one to one support to individuals referred into the Recovery and Mentoring team of North Yorkshire Horizons.
Broker opportunities for them based on their strengths, passions and interests and promote access to positive peer support networks to support individuals to transition from treatment services to independent recovery.
Facilitating, developing and sustaining recovery communities including abstinent based support.
Providing continuing opportunities for services users to become peer mentors and develop their own recovery capital by supporting others. This will include training, supervision and support.
To work within an asset based community development model and mobilise community assets to support long term and sustainable recovery for service users. To actively challenge stigma via education such as community development and working with employers.
To utilise a variety of digital platforms and social media tools to ensure that the service can reach and include clients in county wide peer support initiatives.
Facilitate the creation and delivery of online content to promote and supports the efforts of the NYH partnership in supporting our clients.
