💷 Salary: £37,113

  • Advertised salary is inclusive of a base salary of £35,663 plus a technical allowance of £1,450.
  • Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%

The post holder will need to develop policies by understanding the legislation and regulations that will govern CAM deployments on GB roads. This is a rapidly evolving technical environment and will require a proactive and flexible approach to personal development to keep up to date with technology development, use cases and GB Government objectives. The role will closely interact with Department for Transport (DfT), Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV), industry, public sector and other government bodies, as well as DVSA teams including policy, operations, enforcement and digital services.

 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with the product manager and other product specialists, support the development and delivery of the CAMS product(s) with a focus on vehicle technology to meet the team objectives.
  • Using expert policy, service and technical experience provide detailed CAMS product knowledge to key stakeholders.
  • Provide expert technical product/policy advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders and customers/end users on any component of the product lifecycle. This may include presentations to groups, dealing with telephone enquiries, handling written requests, incidents and complaints.

About you

Essential qualifications:

  • A vocational related qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and level 3, or IMI ATA registration and diagnostic technician level, or IRTEC registration at advanced technician level.

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following experience:

  • In depth knowledge and practical experience of using vehicle telematics data and onboard diagnostics.
  • Detailed and in-depth knowledge of the products and the capabilities required for road transport regulatorily services. This will include the policies and processes related to the development of services and/or the delivery environment in which they operate.
  • Experience of interpretation of legislation and policy, using this information to develop and implement service products.
  • Ability to operate in a highly technical and changing environment – drawing out key factors from complexed situations.
  • Excellent IT and communication skills.
  • Able to work with a minimum of supervision.
