We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Compliance Surveyor to join our team.

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of buildings including Council homes, pavilions, public conveniences, offices and depots.

About the role

 This role is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual eager to share and develop a variety of skills and experiences. You will play a key role working in a busy and rewarding service in the Council. The successful candidate will:

  • Provide a full building surveying service to the Council covering all types of property. Focusing on keeping properties well maintained and complying with all rules and regulations.
  • Supervise and manage repair and renewal works on Council owned Properties, including Housing Revenue Account and corporate owned assets.
  • Help conduct condition surveys of various residential and non-residential properties.
  • Maintain strong programmes to make sure properties meet all statutory regulations.
  • Support the Legal and Estate Management teams by providing building survey and inspection advice, helping with contracts, condition reports and Right to Buy processes.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of properties for a broad range of purposes, like energy management and checking the condition of stock.

Who we’re looking for?

  • Have a good education, including reading, writing and numeracy skills.
  • Have comprehensive experience of working in this field.
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills, in person, in writing and on the phone.
  • Are highly organised and can work with limited supervision.
  • Are comfortable working in a team, working flexibly to support your colleagues.
