Salary up to £40,070 (Dependent on experience) plus a £1,500 South East Allowance and generous benefits package

We’re looking for an Audit Manager to join our Governance, Compliance and Legal Services team to provide professional, qualified, audit advice across the organisation. You’ll take responsibility for designing and implementing our Inspection Programme, taking cognisance of, and ensuring it complements the efforts of other internal and external audit functions.

A vital part of the Audit Manager role will be to construct and hold responsibility for the 3-year rolling audit programme; planning, scoring, and preparing audits, evaluating, and verifying findings and making recommendations where appropriate. As part of this, you’ll also be responsible for the risk assessment criteria each year and considering the Civil Nuclear Police Authority (CNPA) strategic plans to ensure adequate and effective audit coverage.

It’s crucial that our audit management, governance, and internal control processes are operating effectively, whilst you remain professionally objective in gathering, evaluating, and communicating information. You will also act as a professional advisor by performing consultancy and advisory services across the CNC, so you’ll need to be a confident communicator, both written and verbally, with experience of Executive level and strategic report writing.

To join us, you’ll need be experienced and qualified in audit management (e.g., a Practitioner with the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors or a Certified Internal Auditor) and maintain your continuous professional development, knowledge, and compliance with the Code of Ethics and International Standards from the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. You will need to be experienced in Project Management and working with sensitive data. You will have previously worked with ISO standards and be confident in producing statistical and analytical data.

As part of this role, you will be required to travel to Operational Units and other locations, which will include occasional overnight stays.

This role has been identified as suitable for hybrid working, with a mix of office and remote working.
