Be the catalyst for meaningful transformation

Together with our partners, local organisations and residents, we’ve created Lambeth 2030. It’s a bold, shared vision for Lambeth with real ambitions that will help us deliver sustainable change. Now we need an Assistant Director of Corporate Delivery to help us make exciting transformation happen. It’s a whole new role – and if you’re passionate about making big change happen, you’ll thrive on the challenge.

Lambeth 2030 sets out an ambitious programme of change for our Borough; making our neighbourhoods fit for the future, making Lambeth one of the safest Boroughs in London, ensuring Lambeth is a place we can all call home and becoming a Borough of Equity and Justice.

Lambeth, like all other Local Authorities, faces unprecedented challenges in terms of rising demand for its services,  more complex needs and, significant financial pressure. Delivering our ambition requires changes to the way in which we work –thinking about new ways to address complex, system wide problems- and support to ensure the success of our corporate priorities.

Our new Corporate Delivery Unit is at the heart of the council and will be the key to driving that change – working with services, senior leaders, residents and partners to make tangible progress on these key ambitions. You’ll lead the council’s drive to change, improve and develop its services and culture so that the ambitions, commitments and aspirations set out in the Lambeth 2030 plan can be realised.

You’ll start by bringing our transformation professionals together so they’re ready to make a difference. In effect, you will be the glue, creating a cohesive team that can work on short, medium and long-term programmes. Together, you’ll deliver the Council’s approach to transformation, while retaining a relentless focus on customers and their experience with Lambeth.

To galvanise change across the council, you must be confident and capable in your role. You’ll bring experience in public sector change (consultancy or client side), leading positive outcomes for residents. Your expertise will include in-depth knowledge of project management and delivering service improvements. Underpinning this knowledge will be a professional qualification and strong analytical skills.

You’ll have experience of leading change in complex organisations or areas of public policy, be collaborative, commercially astute and an experienced leader of teams and programmes.

If we match your energy, values and ambitions, join us as we embark on our most exciting chapter yet and help us write history for the next generation.
