The Role

You will be a core part of the team and able to access the technology, support and resources you require.   You will be able to rely on support from team members across the firm.  Our lawyer teams are also well supported by our Business Services Finance, HR, IT and Risk functions.

We are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant Apprentice to join our Facilities team in our Southampton office.

The successful applicant will spend one day a week at college studying a Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Typical Workload

  • Assisting with incoming post – opening, date stamping and sorting into teams
  • Scanning post to fee earners
  • Preparing and franking out going post and sorting DX post ready for collection
  • Scanning, binding and photocopying, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy whilst meeting deadlines
  • Assists with minor printer issues (eg resolving paper jams, replacing toner cartridges)
  •  Assist with the stationery and print stocks management by ordering weekly/as and when required from our core list, and ensures stock is kept at agreed levels centrally and on the floors.
  • Preparing meetings rooms and providing assistance to Front of House staff
  • Arranging taxis and courier services as required
  • Ad hoc duties as required from time to time

Skills & Experience

Skills / Experience Required

  • Good spread of GCSEs (A – C or 4-9) including English and Maths
  • Previous administration experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent organisational skills are essential
  • Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative
  • Good writing and IT skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexible attitude and strong work ethic
  • Capable of managing a varied and demanding workload
  • Proactive and positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Self-motivation and willingness to learn and improve
  • Committed to rigour around treating all clients fairly
