Role Description

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Technician to support the provision of accounting and financial control in line with company and regulatory standards. This an Allianz position servicing the LV=GI companies.

You will be responsible for the maintenance of accounting records and ledgers, in order to ensure that the financial accounting requirements for the Group are delivered in a timely and accurate manner. It is a varied and fast paced role, therefore we are looking for someone who can work on their own as well as play an important part in the wider team and to have a desire to further a career in finance.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake the monthly and quarterly tasks in accordance with local and Group deadlines.
Carry out reconciliations of balance sheet accounts within set timescales, checking the validity of all outstanding items and overseeing the resolution of all reconciliation differences.
Responsible for the resolution of internal or external customer queries on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to ensure we provide all customers with a high quality service.
Contribute to the year-end external audit process providing documentation in a timely and efficient manner.
Build relationships with both internal & external customers, projecting a positive image of the department.
Develop understanding of business systems used to feed the accounts and how this relates to their processes.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency or effectiveness of own processes and drive the improvements forward with the support of Team Leader/Manager.
Contribute actively to problem solving initiatives by providing own ideas for discussion and agreement.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience working within a finance team.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of other Office applications.
Knowledge of Oracle general ledger (preferred).
Studying towards an Accountancy qualification (though not essential) – study support will be provided if you are looking to complete your accounting qualification.
Would also consider someone qualified by experience where relevant to the role.
