Technical Learning Development Specialist

Job Purpose
Support the Training Development Manager with the expansion of our current technical training provision across the Technical Services division, as well as support the successful implementation of our 5 year Technical Learning Transformation strategy, monitor its impact, and identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives where required.

Duties include:

  • Effective end-to-end management of technical learning development and improvement projects that reflect best learning practise, resulting in learner centric solutions that utilise modern learning delivery methodologies that create value for the end user and the business
  • Lead learning and development transformation workstreams in support of Technical Services’ wider transformation strategy to a successful outcome
  • Consult with key stakeholders to identify learning needs and ensure learning interventions are designed, created, and delivered to a high standard that meet the desired outcomes
  • Creation of technical skills matrices and learning pathways
  • Accountable for capturing and analysing training management information and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Management and continuous improvement of a series of technical induction programmes.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Applicants must hold a relevant qualification to degree level (or equivalent) and/or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • A good understanding of how Learning and Development contributes to the success of organisations and learning design
  • Ability to interpret data and draw out learning and development needs
  • Strong influencing skills (at all levels), tailoring style to audience and deliver messages credibly
  • Knowledge of / Experience in project delivery and/or change management
  • Analytical skills with experience of collecting, organising, and disseminating accurate information
  • Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
  • Effective stakeholder managements skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at any level
  • Consulting mindset
  • Ability to handle and overcome resistance to change
  • Continuous improvement mindset that challenges the status quo aimed at driving efficiencies.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in the design and evaluation of learning initiatives
  • Good understanding of learning best practise (delivery methodology & adult learning theory)
  • Experience in leading continuous improvement activities and how to identify improvement opportunities
  • An understanding of working in a regulated environment

Additional information:

The succesful candidate will be expected to come to the office at Whiteley at least one day a week to attend meetings, training sessions etc.
