Lecturer in the Applied Sciences

6-12 hours of daytime teaching F2F on campus, £50 per hour

The Pathway Centre is focused on delivering a high-quality student experience to achieve academic success, to realise this aim we a seeking a passionate Science lecturer to join us.
A little more about the role:
As lecturer, you will contribute to the teaching of the Level 3 Science modules on the Level 3 International Foundation Programme. The modules will primarily include:
Biological Sciences Fundamentals
Physical and Earth Sciences Fundamentals
And could potentially also include:
Introduction to Engineering Design and Problem Solving
As 2022/2023 will be the first year running the two Science modules, you will have the opportunity to shape them as you see fit. Working closely with the Head of Centre and IFP Programme Leader, you will also create materials, assessments and take overall responsibility for these modules during the IFP.

What you’ll get up to:
Plan, prepare and deliver learning across the programmes delivered at the Pathway Centre. Provide academic and pastoral support to students, responding promptly to all queries and being available during work hours. Complete an administration required including registers, student feedback, progress monitoring, sponsor reports, etc.
What you’ll bring to the team:
Please see the attached job descriptions for our lecturer role. It is essential that you have at least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant Science based subject and teaching experience.
Ideally you will have worked with international students at Foundation Level/Level 3 however a strong interest in the development and transition of learners into level 4 and 5 is required.
