ICT Engineer

Telent are now looking for an addition of an ICT Engineer to join the Operational Delivery team in the East Sussex region, the perfect opportunity for a 2nd Line level ICT Engineer to be a part of an innovative and driven team. This ICT Engineer opportunity follows a HYBRID working approach, where you will work out of the Lewes office once a week, work from home, and make occasional site visits if or when required.
ICT Engineer – What you’ll do:
- Provide 2nd line ICT support – IT infrastructure, Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Smartphones and Printers
- Provide on-site technical support for up to 26 sites in the assigned region when required
- Monitor, update and respond to faults / service requests in a timely manner, owning each incident to completion, or, by reassigning it to other areas of the department, as per process
- Perform routine maintenance tasks regularly set out by Senior ICT Engineers / the ICT Manager
- Assist Senior ICT Engineers with testing and implementation of new systems and technologies in a timely manner
- Liaise with third party suppliers to ensure full resolution to agreed SLA’s and standards
- Infrastructure life cycle management and capacity planning
- Following a period of training and assessment, form part of the 24×7 duty rota (1 in 5 weeks on-call)
- Work within the framework and guidelines of ITIL processes and policies, ensuring alignment to best practice
- Working as part of an engineering team, you will be responsible for dealing with day-to-day 2nd line activities including desktop, application and server support, hardware support, printing, site visits and performing regular maintenance tasks and checks on a variety of systems
ICT Engineer – Who you are:
The ideal ICT Engineer will already have experience of troubleshooting and fixing a range of incidents and issues relating to IT infrastructure, Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Printers and Smartphones. This is a perfect opportunity to work with other Senior level ICT Engineers and expand knowledge on the job, requiring drive and passion and the willingness to learn. In addition, the ideal ICT Engineer will be able to travel in and around the Lewes county, and be able to effectively work from home, collaborate with the wider team in the Lewes office on a once a week basis.
ICT Engineer – Key requirements:
- Microsoft Certification (MCP/MCSE) – Desirable
- VMware Certification (VCA/VCP/VCAP) – Desirable
- ITIL Foundation – Desirable
- Windows 7 and 10 Client Operating Systems
- Windows Server (up to and including the latest version)
- Server Virtualisation (VMware)
- Microsoft Active Directory (AD)
- Support experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365
- Anti-Virus Solutions
- Backup and DR Solutions
- Cybersecurity including Web and Email filter solutions
- Security Cleared to NPPV3 Level (provided and must be eligible)
- Full UK Driving License will be required
