An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Governance, Quality & Risk to join our Health Services Team. This role will support the delivery of clinical governance across the Bupa Health Clinics Business, including the delivery of systems which support clinical effectiveness, clinical safety, regulatory compliance, customer feedback and professional development. You will ensure effective reporting of clinical governance to the Health Clinics Executive Groups, UK Market Unit or Group, which includes reporting and management of business risks through oversight and management of the Bupa Health Clinics risk register.
You will seek to create a culture of learning and continuous improvement and you will be responsible for supporting clinical activities which will cover all aspects of the business including clinical and operational business delivery, supplier and supply chain, preferred partners and pathway providers, customers and contracts.
This is a pivotal role and as the Head of Governance, Quality & Risk you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective reporting via Datix of user and customer complaints. You will work collaboratively with the Clinical Directors and Regional Operations Managers to ensure clinical risks arising from any aspect of clinical governance are proactively managed at a service level using the approved risk register system and that all higher risks are escalated to appropriate levels within the organisations. You will develop and support a proactive and robust clinical governance and quality framework that enables the organisation to measure and continuously improve the quality of the clinical services it provides.
The Head of Governance, Quality & Risk will champion clinical quality improvement and clinical governance across the Health Clinics, promote excellence and share best practice.
Who we’re looking for?
You’ll have a thorough understanding and a wealth of experience in clinical governance within a range of clinical settings including public and private sector healthcare organisations. Expertise within clinical governance, risk management & quality improvement and best practice in healthcare, with the ability to manage complex cases in a regulatory environment.
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in a medical/scientific or nursing discipline with proven management experience, including strong leadership capabilities. You will have extensive and in-depth knowledge/experience of CQC and other applicable regulatory standards and requirements.
A proven track record and practical experience of developing and enforcing quality standards and audit experience within a clinical setting. You will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
You will be articulate individual with significant experience in engaging and influencing Executive Directors and other senior business leaders including clinicians across all clinical professions. Experience in managing quality accreditation programmes, ISO and knowledge of Health and Safety regulations would be advantageous.
You will have an analytical approach and skilled at developing and evaluating data and trends to inform business decisions. Also, extensive experience in using Datix, complaint handling, investigations, Serious Incidents, Root Cause Analysis and management of the Risk register.
