Reach’s new customer value strategy puts our customers and their experience at the heart of everything we do. The purpose of this role is to lead the Engineering team for our emerging products team reporting into the Director of Engineering ensuring the team is delivering and supporting the team in our customer value strategy, engineering strategy, KPIs, commercial and audience reach whilst providing an engaging and rewarding experience for members of the engineering team.
Reports to the Director of Engineering role, manages 20-40 people. Works with Heads of Product, Project Managers, SEO Management.
This position includes a mixture of home and office working at our HQ in Canary Wharf, London.

Responsible for managing a large engineering team to deliver projects and other work, against KPIs, scope, costs and time
Provides reporting and data for PMO
Provides technical and practical management to the team
Mentors staff to meet their full potential
Drives technical excellence and architectural direction within in
Continuously interacting with the Head of Product to shape the product roadmap to ensure it follows Engineering strategy
Is in charge of implementing the technical aspects of the departmental and company-wide technical strategy
Owns the continuous improvement of the development team
Manages third parties, contracts and budgets
Assists the Director Engineering with strategy
Developing a culture of trust, where people are safe to speak up, clear on their role in the team’s success and empowered to be their best at work.
Deputises for the Director of Engineering as appropriate.
The ideal candidate
Can supervise and manage a large engineering team to meet scope, budget and time constraints
Has a strong background in leading technical solutions and an expert understanding of cloud based web architectures.
A good communicator that can work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders and get the best out of their reports
Confident at managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
A self-starter with a can-do, will-do attitude
Is an active participant in strategic conversations with stakeholders
Works within overall Company strategy set out by CEO
Obsessed with the customer and deepening customer loyalty
Follows vision, strategy and key metrics across relevant areas.
Ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to internal clients in jargon-free plain English.

Qualifications & Experience
Senior Management experience of over 40 people within an agile environment
Technical expertise of modern consumer web and app development techniques, cloud infrastructure
Experiencing of delivering a major project or transformation
Experience of managing senior and experienced technical specialists
Experience of projects and multiple teams
Would be suitable as a step up role for a senior technical leader with an interest and experience in management
