From Finance and IT, to Marketing and People (HR) our support functions are the backbone of our Global operations. We may not deal directly with our customers, but we play an absolutely vital role in making sure that our customer-facing teams get all the support they need to deliver the very best service.

What you’ll be doing…

As a key member of Bupa Insurance (BINS), you will be responsible for balance sheet controls & reporting, including producing high quality reports & associated financial information for the Regulated Entities Executive, Board & Committees.

You will work collaboratively with Bupa Group Finance & business units (BUs) to ensure timely delivery of financial, regulatory and management reporting. Further, you will manage the resourcing and outsourcing arrangements between Bupa Insurance (BINS) Centre Finance and other Bupa teams.

What’s a typical day?

  • Business partner with Group Finance & Bupa Insurance (BINS) to produce:
    • Regulatory reporting, including PRA submissions and narrative information
    • Statutory accounts and reporting
    • Management accounts and reporting including monthly Flash, FD reports drawing on performance / balance sheet insights from Group Finance
  • Produce management information, forecasting and planning to the executive and Board.
  • Develop, document and embed financial controls consistent with the group enterprise wide frameworks, policies and standards.
  • Develop structured guidelines and lead periodic reviews balance sheets.
  • Provide ongoing management and review of the regulated entities finance policies including monitoring compliance
  • Embed the data quality policy requirements in the regulated entities
  • Support the governance process by attending the Regulated Entities Reporting and Disclosures Committee (RERDC) presenting papers prepared by the team
  • Manage & document the resourcing & outsourcing arrangements between Group Finance (FP&A, Financial Reporting Team, Actuarial, Treasury, Tax, Strategic Finance)
  • Collaborate with Group Finance & Bupa Insurance to support and review business cases before they are presented to the Executive team and Board.
  • Manage and monitor compliance with the External Supplier policy
  • Facilitate key meetings to ensure alignment in reporting processes
  • Manage the relationship between the regulated entities and the external audit firm
  • Partner with Bupa Treasury – support the management of inter-company loans, guarantees and cash flows.
  • Liaise with Bupa Tax team – support the Bupa Insurance tax activity.
  • Business partner with Strategic Finance to develop and manage BINS Capital Plan.

Who we’re looking for?

You will be an ambitious individual with excellent communication & technical accounting skills. Planning and prioritising are crucial, allowing you to make effective decisions, solve problems and increase efficiency of working.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Qualified Accountant – ACCA, ACA, or CIMA
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls
  • First-hand experience of delivering financial analysis and reporting solutions in a complex and decentralised environment.
  • Awareness of regulatory reporting requirements
  • Good understanding of IFRS accounting policies
  • Good technical accounting ability and experience in transactional accounting
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and experience of working with financial accounting systems
  • Experience of coordinating large processes with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to interact and influence at senior levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including preparation of executive presentations
  • Experienced in managing conflicting tasks & deadlines
  • Experience of coordinating large processes with multiple stakeholders
  • A methodical, enquiring and analytical approach to their work.

This role can be based in London, Manchester or Brighton (Bupa offices).
